Also known as palm sugar, our organic coconut sugar is sustainably grown in Indonesia and is just one of the many uses of the coconut palm tree. Coconut palms grow throughout the tropical climates of South East Asia and Oceania and are used to produce a variety of coconut derivatives including coconut oil, coconut flour, coconut milk, coconut water and desiccated coconut. The tall trees even used to create clothing, tools, and shelter; nicknamed the ‘tree of life’ among local communities.
South and South-East Asian regions have been using coconut palm sugar for generations, incorporating it into traditional dishes and using it as an everyday sweetener. With its low glycemic index, coconut sugar helps to balance blood sugar levels and is also typically a source of potassium which contributes to the maintenance of normal blood pressure and to the normal functioning of the nervous system.
